Coca Cola Bottle Design: It’s Mine, Diet Coke

Nothing says “a perfect fit” better than one of a kind packaging! Seriously, what better way to make brand loyal consumers feel even more special. You’ve probably seen this brand a time or two, yes it’s Coca Cola. The infamous soda brand has done it again with yet another colorful advertising campaign to catch our eye, this time the attention is being called to Diet Coke.

Diet Coke has recently launched their “It’s Mine” campaign, a campaign that involved the creation of millions of uniquely designed Diet Coke bottles. According to Diet Coke, here is the thought behind the coca cola bottle (limited time) packaging design:

“May everyone get the object of their desire tonight, and every night. Say ‘IT’S MINE’ by grabbing your own unique Diet Coke bottle, available for a limited time. Featuring the song “I Want It All” by Andra Day.”

The packaging of the Coca Cola bottle itself has been made and released in millions of unique designs. Diet Coke drinkers are challenged to pick their favorite bottle and “take whats theirs.”

Additionally, the campaign has created quite the social media movement, celebrities, such as Brad Goreski, (celebrity stylist and E! “Fashion Police” host) endorse the It’s Mine campaign when relating how to get “red carpet ready.”

Brad shares some excellent tips about patterns and prints for fashion use, these are tips, that he says, are a great way to “liven-up your wardrobe,” I guess the thing same applies to patterns for Coca Cola bottle packaging, thanks Brad!

The campaign also encourages Diet Coke drinkers to join in on the It’s Mine Twitter sweepstakes which includes the following:

“Share a photo of you & your stylish Diet Coke with #ITSMINEsweepstakes for a chance to win $10,000 worth of wardrobe must-haves hand-picked by Brad Goreski, plus a year’s supply of Diet Coke”

Not a bad deal! Diet Coke drinkers who join the It’s Mine sweepstakes also earn the chance to be featured on the Diet Coke website.

The bottles were first seen in stores and major retailers on February 1, 2016. The bottle is not your everyday plastic, but rather the classic 12oz. glass bottle. According to The Coca Cola Company, select It’s Mine designs and patterns, “… will be available on 7.5-oz. mini-cans, 8.5-oz. aluminum bottles, 12-oz. and 16-oz. cans and 500 mL and 20-oz. PET bottles. No two glass bottles are the same.” Talk about a lot of brainstorming for new designs.

The packaging design here is simply special. Take a look at what Kate Santore, senior manager of integrated marketing communications, Coca-Cola North America had to say about this innovative coca cola bottle idea:

“These bottles make your favorite beverage even more special – every bottle is completely unique, which means a fan can now own a piece of the brand no one else in the world owns.”

We agree Kate! Way to go Coca Cola, you never cease to impress in the packaging campaign department.

I don’t know about you, but I am off to find a Diet Coke bottle (at my local grocery store) that no one else in the world will ever own!
