Everyone likes to be recognized for their work. Whether you are a scientist or a graphic designer, chances are, there’s an awards competition that you can enter. The Dieline Awards

An international packaging design awards competition, the Dieline Awards look to recognize some of the best in the world in the field of consumer product packaging design. The Dieline Awards were created in 2009 and are judged on three main components: creativity, marketability, and innovation. There are 78 possible awards to win at this packaging design awards competition and they include: Best of Show, Editor’s Choice Award, and Studio of the Year Award. Former judges include Debbie Millman, President Emeritus of AIGA and President of Design at Sterling Brands.

Pentawards

The Pentawards were established in 2007 and have garnered international attention as one of the most prestigious packaging design awards to win. Anyone associated with the creation or marketing of packaging is welcome to apply, from any country in the world. The hope of the Pentawards is to raise awareness of rising talent in the packaging design industry. The judges are comprised of a panel of 12 respected designers from across the globe. This past year, judges included Asa Cook, Laurent Hainaut, and Anna Lukanina.

American Graphic Design Awards

Sponsored by Graphic Design USA, these packaging design awards are exclusively for any designer or studio who is a member of the Graphic Design USA community. This is one of the longest running competitions, finding its roots nearly fifty years ago. All different types of packaging design awards are given, including print, packaging, internet graphics, and motion graphics. Winners earn the privilege of having their work reproduced in the annual Graphic Design USA Awards Annual in print, online, digital, and mobile, which sees over 100,000 colleagues worth of eyes each year.

Luxury Packaging Awards

A European packaging design awards gala, the Luxury Packaging Awards have multiple different categories into which one can enter one’s work. The categories include: tobacco, jewelry and accessories, luxury bag, drink bottles, perfume, cosmetics, personal care, and multiple others. Packaging design awards will be given based on quality and innovation, functionality, shelf stand-out, how the packaging adds to the brand, and luxury feel. The esteemed judges include Paul Day of LF Beauty, Ann Dunne of Harrods, and Simon Elmer of Procter & Gamble.

A’Design Award & Competition

Promoted as a freestyle design competition, A’Design packaging design awards seek to recognize both professional and young designers. The Packaging Award is granted based on quality and perfection in design. Should one be lucky enough to win an A’Design Award, then one’s work will also be displayed in the A’ best designs book, which is seen by hundreds of established designers worldwide.
