Cheese packaging has remained the same for as long as I can remember. The most innovative designs we’ve seen have been wooden boxes for soft cheeses, or the classic wax casing.
But those days are gone.
Student designers Galima Akhmetzyanova – New Zealand, Auckland and Pavla Chuykina – Russia, Moscow have designed this beautiful cheese packaging, which includes a wooden base and glass jar. The design also includes a built in cheese slicer, ensuring consistent thickness for slices (something I would rejoice over), and an optional “seat belt” to aid with transportation. Not only is the functionality of the design applaudable, but the brand is clean, fresh and has a sense of character.
An overall win for these student designers!
